It begins with a medical degree, followed by a residency in orthopedic or neurosurgery, and often culminates in a fellowship focusing on spinal surgery. Spinal surgery is a constantly evolving field. Surgeons must continuously update their knowledge and skills to incorporate new research findings, surgical techniques, and technological advancements. This commitment to lifelong learning is essential to provide optimal patient care.
